Broadway.com's new resident artist Justin "Squigs" Robertson kicks off a new column this week with a salute to the Tony-winning revival of Hair, which ends its run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre this Sunday, June 27. In the center of the drawing, you'll find the show's creators James Rado, Gerome Ragni and Galt MacDermot, surrounded by two trios of stars. On top are original leads Will Swenson, Caissie Levy and Gavin Creel and at the bottom of the drawing are current stars Kyle Riabko, Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo. Although the show is coming to an end, it's spirit lives on!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
